Finding Keratoconus Before It Finds You
Tracy Schroeder Swartz, OD, MS, FAAO & Clark Chang, OD, MS, FAAO

Emerging ectasia can go undetected because it shares overlapping clinical features with normal corneas. This one-hour course will highlight real world cases to demonstrate how to identify suspicious clinical findings to guide subsequent management decisions.

Course Objectives
  • Identify early stages of keratoconus and potential signs of progression
  • Understand how to interpret stand-alone clinical test results in diagnosing keratoconus and measuring clinical progression
  • Understand how to combine refractive error, aberrometry, pachymetric distribution, topography, tomography and/or AS-OCT to identify and monitor early or suspicious keratoconus patients
  • Understand how early detection facilitates successful visual rehabilitation
