PAIN MANAGEMENT: NARCOTIC ANALGESICS AND BEYOND!
Joseph Pizzimenti, OD, FAAO
Pain is a feeling triggered in the nervous system. It may be sharp or dull. Pain may come and go, or it may be constant. This course presents the pathobiology, causes, proper diagnosis, and responsible management of ocular and periocular pain. While the opioid class of analgesics remains an important component of mitigation of pain, our discussion goes beyond narcotic analgesics to discuss a global approach to pain management.
