1. UNDERSTANDING CENTRAL RETINAL ARTERY OCCLUSION (88469-SD)
Carlo J. Pelino, OD, FAAO

The goal of this course is to provide information about central retinal artery occlusion (a true ocular emergency) that can present in an optometric practice. Specifically, it will review clinical findings, appropriate systemic testing, as well as treatment and management of this emergency.

New treatment options and specific testing will be discussed. This course will be presented in a grand rounds fashion.

2. PHONE A FRIEND: THE GREATEST CASES THAT I NEVER SAW (88496-NO)
Joseph Sowka, OD, FAAO

In a case-based format, several entities are discussed which presented in consultation, not in person, but via text, phone call, and email.

In each case, despite limited diagnostic information and distant clinical examination, pertinent details are identified, confounding information is dissected, and key diagnostic clues and considerations are emphasized leading to proper management in each situation.

This lecture emphasizes the value of secondary consultation and opinion through distant means for the betterment of patient care and improving patient outcomes.

3. ORAL MEDICATIONS IN ANTERIOR SEGMENT DISEASE (88492-PH)
Steven L. Sorkin, OD, FSLS, Dipl. ABO

Oral Medications play a vital role in the treatment and management of anterior segment disease. Various classes of oral medications will be discussed with the use of case studies. Indications and contraindications of antibiotics, antivirals, pain medications and antihistamines will be discussed in this course.

4. THE GLAUCOMA COMPASS (88450-GL)
Nathan Lighthizer, OD, FAAO

Clinical and scientific evidence supports the use of numerous tests to help in the diagnosis, management, and follow-up of glaucoma.
This lecture will review some of the classic tests for glaucoma and also introduce and give participants the opportunity to get hands-on with the newer technology including OCT, OCT-A VEP and pERG.

5. ADVANCES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF GLAUCOMA (88452-GL)
Richard J. Madonna, MA, OD, FAAO & Anupam Laul, OD, FAAO, DIPL ABO

Recent advances in glaucoma management trend toward reducing reliance on patients instilling drops and more aggressive use of laser trabeculoplasty and MIGS procedures. This course discusses these trends within the context of interventional glaucoma management.

6. MYOPIA MANAGEMENT- THE NEXT GENERATION (88484-GO)
Brianna C. Rhue, OD, FAAO, FSLS

This course will explore proposed mechanisms behind the development and progression of myopia, identify known risk factors, and provide an evidence-based update on therapies aimed at helping the practitioner to understand why it is important to treat myopia, how to identify patients that are at risk for progression and how to choose a treatment strategy based on research to slow down the progression of myopia in children.

7. OPTIMIZING THE TOPICAL MEDICAL MANAGEMENT OF GLAUCOMA (88652-GL)
Pinakin G. Davey, OD, PhD, FAAO, FARVO

This course deals with various classes of glaucoma medications and when to consider and when not to consider certain agents. Understanding side effects, contraindications and factors that influence persistence and adherence to intraocular pressure lowering agents.

8. PRACTICAL GUIDELINES FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF NON-EXUDATIVE AMD (88423-PH)
Jeffry D. Gerson, OD, FAAO

Over the past 15 years, tremendous advances have been made in the detection and treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers are published every month, covering a broad range of topics ranging from epidemiology to treatment. Although the expanded knowledge is welcome news, the information overload has made it difficult for clinicians to keep up with the science, much less understand the implications for patient care.

This program will address this need by outlining practical, evidence-based strategies that can be implemented in a medically-oriented practice.

9. OCT INTERPRETATION: A NEW AND EASY METHOD FOR ALL USERS (88375-GL)
Michael A. Chaglasian, OD, FAAO

Accurate interpretation of an OCT imaging report from a Glaucoma Suspect is a critical skill. Unfortunately, the summary reports from all OCT devices can be confusing and misleading. This can lead to incorrect and misdiagnosis.

This lecture will present a new method, applicable to virtually all reports, that will improve efficiency and accuracy of interpretation.

10. HOW TO MANAGE ALL TYPES OF GLAUCOMA SUSPECTS (88372-GL)
Michael A. Chaglasian, OD, FAAO

Glaucoma suspects come in all shapes and sizes, with a wide variety of clinical findings and risk factors. Some with high IOP, other without; some with large cup/disc ratio, others without. This course will focus on the best practice tips for identifying glaucoma at the earliest possible stage.

Great choices by the masses and many many more great lectures!!

It is interesting to see how the popularity shifts at each different event!

We'll have more data after the event on June 8-9

They are all great speakers and you can be sure the theme of Glaucoma subjects and the DEA requirement will be addressed in CEwire2025. This is obvious from the data Adam shared. Any other pithy topics are welcome if you would like one ask please

Yup, this is the time for people to make requests for 2025 --

We've collected a bunch of data from the 75 course hours this year, so we know what topics are currently popular, but we're also open to suggestions -- the nice part about not being beholden to outside interests is that we can do whatever the conferencegoers want us to do.

That's pretty unique ...
