That should work just fine - the system looks at "total time watched" for each video, so if the playhead gets sent back to the beginning when you come back later, just move it to the correct time & pick up from there.Adam: can I pause and resume on another day?

OPTOMETRY'S ROLE IN THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC Benjamin P. Casella, OD, FAAO The opioid epidemic of the 2 decades has impacted nearly every American family in some way, shape, or form. Optometry’s nearly universal authority to prescribe addictive opioid medications brings with it the responsibility to understand how these medications may be abused, how they may be illicitly handled, and how they lead to addictions with the potential to devastate families. This course will review some of the more commonly prescribed opioid medications in a primary eye care setting. It will also go over contemporary guidelines authored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help curb opioid addiction in a health care setting. | 2 | 88864-PH | 88926-PH |

NARCOTICS AND DRUG DIVERSION Benjamin P. Casella, OD, FAAO Narcotic analgesics certainly have their place in primary eye care. However, prescribing these potent and potentially addictive medications comes with great responsibility on the part of the prescriber. This course will update the clinician on proper prescribing protocol for narcotic analgesic medications, including common indications, contraindications, and typical dosage amounts and frequencies. There will be case presentations for audience participation interspersed within. | 1 | 88370-PH | 88371-PH |
MANAGEMENT OF OCULAR PAIN IN THE ERA OF THE OPIATE/FENTANYL EPIDEMIC Bruce Onofrey, OD, RPh, FAAO Management of pain with controlled substances has become more challenging within the context of the devasting effect on society of the opiate/fentanyl epidemic. This epidemic has affected the wellbeing and lives of thousands of people. To ensure that prescribers do not add to this problem via the legal prescription process, the DEA has mandated that all DEA licensees participate in regular training, prior to renewal of their DEA license to prescribe controlled substances. This lecture will cover strategies to avoid diversion of these drugs as well as alternatives to their use. Case management examples are used to illustrate proper drug selection and use. Addiction mechanisms, behavior and resources to aid the addicted patient and provider are included. The complete pharmacology of these agents is covered including indications, mechanism of action, side-effects, adverse effects, dosages and contraindications. | 2 | 88814-PH | 88923-PH |

The goal of this course is to provide current and accurate information about diagnosis, and responsible management of ocular and periocular pain |
Hi Robert -- Dr. Pizzimenti can't make it to the live show this weekend, which is why his DEA courses aren't on the schedule "live" this time around. (and you are correct - they are all in a single track on Sunday.)I only see five hours of DEA opioid related education and it is only Sunday. Are there other courses on Saturday that are DEA certification related? Thank you
Correct Adam. I forgot about DR. Pizzimenti but you can take it Asynchronously or at the next two Live weekends in June and September. He will be there thenHi Robert -- Dr. Pizzimenti can't make it to the live show this weekend, which is why his DEA courses aren't on the schedule "live" this time around. Importantly, the DEA does not care if you watch these talks live or on demand, so you can actually take them at any time and get credit that the DEA will accept. (The only hitch is that with the on demand talks, you'll need to pass a quiz vs. watching it live, where you just fill out a survey.)
Thanks!
Adam
Hi Bryanna, we're working on the servers getting everything in place for the big live show, sorry for the blip, try now everything should be running! Is there an issue with the CEwire 2024 site today. I'm logging in and it just continuously says "Authenticating…You will be redirected to your realm shortly."
Can Pennsylvania do all 30 credits Live Synchronous, or is the ‘15 Online’ they allow, lump together Synchronous with Asynchronous? The Licensing website is unclear with their Rules.Well, registration for the 2024 event is underway, by now we've communicated with just about everyone who has taken a prior CEwire event letting them know about the "early bird special".
I'm not privy to what each state is doing around CE requirements this year, but my assumption based on the velocity of signups is that many are still allowing a large number of credits to be taken online.
Hope everyone enjoys the event this year; I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew I think with 75 credits, but we'll see how it goes

Francine - your best bet is to send an email to the PA board and ask them directly -- does Synchronous Virtual count the same as in-person.Can Pennsylvania do all 30 credits Live Synchronous, or is the ‘15 Online’ they allow, lump together Synchronous with Asynchronous? Yes I too do not have access but here is as complete as I could get, It appears they allow 15 BUT this may not be up to dateFrancine - your best bet is to send an email to the PA board and ask them directly -- does Synchronous Virtual count the same as in-person.
The boards rules are all constantly in flux, and they don't respond to emails that I send since I'm not a licensee.
We have a doc from Alaska also querying his board about it, b/c COVID has really kicked up again to high levels here out west, and it seems ridiculous to force long-distance travel if you don't have to.
I believe because CEwire2024 ended December first. Course are no longer available. You can get a new 75 CE COPE credits at WWW.CEwire2025.com starting end of JanuaryAdam,
I keep getting an error message when attempting to login.

Oh, I thought CE wire 24 would actually go through 2024. I didn't realize that their "year" was only 10 months since it starts again end of Jan 2025.
Thanks.
